College’s Visit at “Platform Gyan Mandir”
Smt. Ushaben Chandrakant Thakar Women’s College arranged visit to the renowned institute “Platform Gyan Mandir”. Students of the college distributed the essentials to the students and celebrated Raksha-bandhan program over there.
Head Master of Platform Gyan Mandir, Shri Ravi Bhandakkar addressed the students and gave brief information about the intitution that this institution has rescued over 100 runaway children from railway platform and successfully reunited about 40 children with their families. At present there are 30 students from different States belongs to the age group of 6 and above and the school has been shaping the future of such children with special efforts to inculcate good values in them.
Principal Dr. R.D. Mehta said that bringing up an abandoned child is an onerous and sensitive task. Society should take initiative and generously donate for such cause. Now, because of such an initiative, crime rates in society will came down and responsible citizens of India can be made through such kinds of institutions.
Prof. Neha Selarka reminded the speech given by Nobel Prize laureate, Kailash Satyarthi “Every child must be free to dream.” Prof. Dr. Vijeyandra Shahu conducted the proceedings and students enthusiastically participated in the visit.
